Gunung Nuang Hike

Mount Nuang is a mountain located in Malaysia, with a height of 1,493 metres. Its peak borders the states of Pahang and Selangor and is close to the Pahang-Selangor-Negeri Sembilan tripoint. The mountain itself is the third highest point in Selangor. Ascending into the Titiwangsa Main Range, the route passes numerous small streams and is notable for its thick forest, including large groves of wild bamboo. The ascent is a test of sustained effort, demanding sound footing on surfaces that are a mix of loose rock and heavy, exposed roots. Wildlife, including various bird species, monkeys, and the occasional large mammal, can be heard in the thick canopy throughout the lower and middle elevations, especially near perennial water sources like Lolo Falls. As hikers make their way up the trail, they will encounter steep and rugged terrain, with sections of narrow trails and steep drop-offs. The path to Pengasih Camp is even steeper, and in some places, uprooted trees have gouged great holes in the trail, which must be scaled by pulling on tree roots and branches. The summit of Gunung Nuang offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, including lush forests and rolling hills.
This mountain is always regarded as the toughest in Selangor after Gunung Rajah. It's a very suitable mountains for training and many trail runners and hikers use it for preparation before heading mountains in overseas. It's a tough mountain and suitable for experienced hikers but beginners can hike to Pacat Kem.
