Mount Gap - Gus Hike


Gunung Gap - Gus is a challenging, 6 - 7 hour with 7km hike near Kuala Kuru Bahru, Selangor, with a elevation of 1,360m, steep ascents, muddy paths, and a scenic mossy forest. Located near Fraser's Hill, this trail is a popular choice for beginner hikers who want to push themselves, serving as an excellent training ground for more advanced climbs.
Hikers often use ropes on the steep, sometimes slippery trail, which is popular for its flora and fauna. Many interesting point along the trail with lots of Root-filled trails, bamboo forest, mossy forest at the summit, and border marker stones.
The hike offers a unique experience of conquering two peaks and the trail begins with a steep and demanding ascent through a bamboo forest and slowly into mossy forest to the first peak called Mount Gap. After a good rest and pictures, we continue to the another higher peak called Mount Ulu Semangkok. Please bring gloves for root climbing, wear appropriate shoes, bring a raincoat and the trail can be muddy and slippery especially after rain.

Itinerary
7:00am – Assemble at parking.
7:15am – Safety briefing, gear check & warm-up.
7:30am. – Start hiking to trailhead.
9:00am. – Arrive at Mount Gap Summit.
10:45 - 11.00am – Target to reach the Mount Ulu Semangkuk summit. Spend 45minutes to 1 hour to enjoy the summit and have lunch. Taking summit pictures.
11.45am to 12.30pm – Start descending slowly and be careful.
1.30pm to 2:00pm – Exit at Trailhead / Parking Area. End of Hike & Journey Home.
